Australian gas-station chain accepts Bitcoin

Are you paying with cash or with a card? With crypto, please! Since August 17, you can pay at 175 gas stations in Australia with Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies.

The crypto exchange Crypto.com announced yesterday, August 17, 2022, that Australians can now pay their gasoline bills and everyday goods with crypto. Crypto.com is partnering for this with tech firm DataMesh and the gas station chain OTR.

As a Crypto.com wallet owner, you can pay with cryptocurrencies in some grocery stores and at 175 OTR stations. The process works via a QR code on your smartphone. The transfer is real-time and it doesn’t require converting crypto to fiat first. Peregrine Corp, owner of OTR, also plans to expand Bitcoin and other cryptos payments to 250 additional retail locations across Australia.
