During his campaign, the future Republican president made numerous promises to the Bitcoin and cryptocurrency community. Whether Trump himself had invested in Bitcoin, however, was unclear until now.

In a recent interview published on X by Adam Back, CEO of Blockstream, a close crypto advisor to the Republican speaks out on the issue. David Bailey, CEO of Bitcoin Magazine, brought Trump to the Bitcoin Conference in Nashville in July.

"Trump told me he owns a significant number of Bitcoins," Bailey reveals in the video. However, he does not provide details on the exact size of the Bitcoin assets of the 47th U.S. president-designate.

Bailey does hint, "I won't disclose the number, but even then it was significant. The value has only increased since then."

"He doesn't manage his money directly, but he had a significant position even then," adds the Trump confidant, who reportedly helped with his crypto campaign.

When Donald Trump performed at the Bitcoin Conference in Nashville, the Bitcoin exchange rate stood at about US$68,000. Since then, the value has risen more than 40 percent.

Trump's new Treasury Secretary-elect, Scott Bessent, has renounced his Bitcoin holdings to avoid conflicts of interest. The future U.S. president may have to do the same.
