Billionaire Kevin O'Leary Reveals His Crypto Portfolio

The former critic of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies is now a crypto investor. In an interview he reveals his portfolio and his market outlook.

Kevin O’Leary offers insight

In an interview with Crypto Banter, billionaire investor Kevin O'Leary shared his predictions for the crypto market and how his portfolio is split. Just a year ago, O'Leary said he "saw no signs of professional investors in Bitcoin." Now the billionaire, known from the TV show "Shark Tank," has revealed that he wants to invest with his fund in IoT projects Helium (HNT) and Pollen Mobile (PCN). Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, and a whole bunch of others are already in his holdings.

O’Leary sees crypto regulation as a catalyst

O'Leary said further that he views crypto regulation as the next catalyst for a bull market. On one hand, he sees the Stablecoin Transparency Act as a legitimizing signal for big investors to pour money into the sector. On the other hand, clear rules from the U.S. financial regulator the SEC would be the starting signal for massive investments by larger funds.

According to O'Leary, they are willing to invest "up to one percent of their capital in Bitcoin once their legal team approves it." That would only be the case if the SEC finally classifies Bitcoin as a commodity or a security. The regulator has been in a legal battle with crypto payments firm Ripple (XRP) since 2020, which is also addressing this question. A positive ruling for the company could signal a corresponding bullish sign for the rest of the market and sidelined investors.
