Binance hires former FBI agents

The world's largest crypto broker is creating a unit to combat money laundering with prominent backing.

Former FBI agent to lead

The world's biggest crypto broker Binance is setting up an investigations unit to fight cybercrime reports Cointelegraph. The head of the investigations unit will be former FBI agent BJ Kang, who is a bit of a celebrity in the financial world. Reuters calls him "the most feared man on Wall Street." This is the agent whose focus at the FBI included money laundering, fraud and cybercrime.

A close collaboration

The newly formed investigations unit will work closely with government agencies to combat crime on Binance's behalf. Binance has faced serious cybercrime allegations in the past itself. According to Reuters, between 2017 and 2021 more than two billion dollars were laundered on the platform.
