Thanks to the new BRC-20 tokens, Bitcoin NFTs nearly doubled within a week. Binance wants in on the success and is integrating NFTs this month.

The number of Bitcoin NFTs has nearly doubled in the past seven days from 2.5 million to 4.9 million, according to data from Dune Analytics.

BRC-20 tokens are the main cause of the huge increase in Ordinals on the BTC blockchain. BRC-20 is a technical standard that allows developers to create custom tokens on the Bitcoin blockchain. Data from Brc-20.io shows that more than 14,200 different BRC-20 tokens have already been created.

Among the most popular BTC NFTs are "Ordi," "Nals" and even a Bitcoin-based version of the Memecoin PEPE. Meanwhile, the hype surrounding the new BRC-20 tokens is causing huge congestion on the Bitcoin network. In Maxi circles, the protocol is under scrutiny.
