Bitcoin dominance climbs rapidly while Ethereum dominance plunges
Hard times are ahead for Ethereum investors.

For Ethereum investors, hard times are ahead. Recently, Ether's value relative to Bitcoin fell to its lowest level in five years. But even more worrying is the fast-shrinking market share of the second-largest crypto, also known as dominance.
That share has fallen to just above seven percent, the lowest level since September 2019. “The Ethereum dominance is about to hit a new historic low,” says crypto analyst Rekt Capital on the platform X.
Notably, this pullback seems only partly linked to the overall shaky market conditions of the past few months. For example, XRP in the same period expanded its market share by as much as 200 percent.
Bitcoin also staged a strong rally see. The largest cryptocurrency worldwide has pushed its dominance to 60 percent – a level last seen in 2021. This rise was fueled by solid price gains after Donald Trump’s election victory, and by ongoing international debates over holding Bitcoin reserves.
Yet the rally now appears to be cooling. Due to market jitters from Trump’s new trade tariffs, many of the recent gains have already vanished.
