Bitcoin is worth more than Meta now

Earlier Visa was overtaken; now it's Meta's turn. Bitcoin has performed well since the start of the year. These days too - despite volatility in the financial markets.

Bitcoin overtakes tech giant Meta in value after yesterday's price rally. That shows up in a look at the most valuable asset classes. The cryptocurrency is now 11th in market cap at $471 billion. Tesla sits next with a value of about $552 billion.

In February 2022, Bitcoin already overtook the payment processor Visa. The cryptocurrency has performed well since the start of the year, rising nearly 50 percent during this period. Current price: almost $25,000.

Just in the last 24 hours, the cryptocurrency rose by nearly 10 percent. And that's despite the crisis at Silicon Valley Bank, one of the worst banking crises since 2008.
