Bitcoin keeps amazing. With a rise to above $122,000, Bitcoin has now officially hoisted itself above tech giants like Amazon and Alphabet (Google). That comes from figures at the comparison site CompaniesMarketCap.
The market capitalization of Bitcoin is currently about $2.425 trillion. For comparison: Amazon sits at about $2.380 trillion and Alphabet at $2.190 trillion. Even silver, long a bastion of value, has to concede to Bitcoin.
That puts BTC in fifth place on the world ranking of the most valuable assets. Only Apple, Microsoft, NVIDIA, and gold remain bigger.
If you think Bitcoin has hit its ceiling, you might be mistaken. To match Apple, the current No. 1, the price would need to rise to about $158,522, based on the current circulating supply.
But in the long run, Bitcoin is aiming for the absolute throne: gold. If this rally continues, the battle between the two “safe havens” could enter a new chapter in the coming years. One thing’s for sure: the race for value is on.
