Bitcoin rises to $111,000 as fear persists

The crypto market kicks off the week with a clear rally. Bitcoin, Ethereum, and other cryptocurrencies are in the green.

The crypto market is starting the week with a recovery rally. The total market cap rose by nearly 3% over the last 24 hours to around $3.85 trillion.

Bitcoin gained about two percent and is currently trading at $111,000. That puts it roughly ten percent below the all-time high. Also Ethereum rose about two percent. It is trading around $4,100 and sits about seventeen percent below the record high.

Most altcoins likewise posted gains of about two to five percent. The biggest gainer was MYX Finance with a 26% rise, while Plasma posted a 13% loss, the largest decline among the top 100.

The Fear & Greed Index sits at 36 points, still in the fear zone. The average crypto RSI sits right in the middle between oversold and overbought, signaling a neutral market situation.

Many investors are already looking ahead to October, often dubbed Uptober in crypto circles. Traditionally, October is seen as a bullish month for Bitcoin and altcoins, so expectations this time around are also for upside price moves.
