After nearly 13 years of silence, a Bitcoin whale has moved coins again. What was once worth only $5,000 is now worth more than $50 million.

According to data from the BTC mempool, a Bitcoin wallet that has been inactive since November 2012, with 444.81 BTC, worth about $50.7 million, has become active again. On Thursday morning at 11:27 UTC, 137 BTC, worth about $15.6 million, were sent. Of that, 132 BTC went to a new wallet, while 5 BTC landed at a Kraken deposit address, a possible sign that part is being sold.

When the coins were last moved, Bitcoin traded at just $12.22. At the current price of around $114,000, that represents a value rise of over 9,300x. In the original “1Q397” wallet, 307.79 BTC remain after the transaction, worth about $35.1 million.

It's not the only old wallet making noise again. In July, Galaxy Digital moved more than 80,000 BTC worth over $9 billion on behalf of a long-time investor. Another whale also shifted billions of Bitcoin into Ethereum.
