BlackRock Bitcoin ETF stays at record high

The BlackRock Bitcoin ETF (IBIT) is breaking records. Since the start of this year, a whopping 8.8 billion dollars has flowed into the Bitcoin index fund. That makes the iShares Bitcoin Trust the fifth most successful ETF of 2025, which is notable because just under a month ago the fund was sitting at #47. “That's crazy. In just a few weeks, $6.5 billion more has come in. The fund is chewing its way upward like Pac-Man. As gold and money-market ETFs pull back, we’re seeing the ranks restore to the true winners of 2024,” View post on XBloomberg’s ETF expert Eric Balchunas on X.

In total, $66.9 billion has already been invested in the fund. Because the ETF is physically backed, BlackRock currently holds 638,824 BTC. For comparison, the largest publicly traded Bitcoin fund to date, MicroStrategy's, holds just 576,230 BTC.

The lineup of top-performing ETFs is led by the VOO Vanguard S&P 500 ETF, which this year saw $64 billion in net inflows, with total assets under management of $661 billion.

On Thursday, May 22, Bitcoin broke through the $111,000 mark for the first time—also helped by continued capital flow toward Bitcoin ETFs.
