BlackRock is trying to register a Bitcoin spot ETF with the SEC. CEO Larry Fink is confident in crypto as digital gold.

In a interview with Fox Business, BlackRock CEO Larry Fink says he wants to work with regulators to resolve the issues surrounding the recently filed Bitcoin spot ETF.

"We have a good track record of working with our regulators and trying to make sure we're thinking about any issues around each filing," Fink said.

"We want to democratize crypto more and make it much cheaper for investors." Right now, the bid-ask spread for cryptocurrencies is very high, they say.

"Crypto is digital gold and Bitcoin is an international asset [...] It can be an asset that people can use as an alternative," Fink continued.

After BlackRock had filed its Bitcoin spot ETF application, the BTC price has risen significantly. Other major asset managers, including Fidelity, are currently trying to apply for such an ETF as well.
