Craig Wright back in court in Australia

Craig Wright is on trial in Australia. The reason: his constant statements that he is the inventor of Bitcoin and thus his real identity would be Satoshi Nakamoto.

In 2021, an NGO sued the programmer for this - the Crypto Open Patent Alliance (COPA). This is backed by people like Jack Dorsey and companies like Coinbase. The NGO dragged Wright to court. The court rejected his proposed settlement.

The accusation: Craig Wright cannot prove he is Satoshi; most of his alleged evidence is falsified. The authorship of the Bitcoin white paper is also in question.

"Wright's claim that he is Satoshi Nakamoto is a blatant lie and an elaborate story made possible by forgery on an industrial scale," a COPA spokesperson told Coindesk. Craig Wright, meanwhile, continues to attack people in the industry with lawsuits to intimidate them. The lawsuit now moves to the next phase on Feb. 14, where Craig Wright will be questioned.
