Crypto wallet spotted in Microsoft's Edge browser

There are hints of a crypto extension in the code of Microsoft's web browser. Will Edge soon get its own crypto wallet?

Posts are circulating on Twitter about the possible implementation of a crypto wallet in Microsoft's browser Edge. According to these posts, the anonymous developer Albacore found references to a crypto extension in the software's code. It supposedly exists in the latest versions but isn't visible to users yet.

Additionally, the first screenshots followed. They showed the wallet's setup order, as well as a dApp explorer and crypto purchase options via MoonPay and Coinbase. It's still unclear whether an integration will actually happen. As Albacore said, Microsoft developers always test extensions.

The tech giant may still be weighing entering the market for crypto-specific web browsers. Brave and Opera currently dominate here.
