Dogecoin ETF could be launched in the US as early as next week
Bloomberg analyst Eric Balchunas says the first Dogecoin spot ETF could be launched in the US as early as next week.

View post on X could the first Dogecoin spot ETF be launched in the United States as early as next week. Issuer REX Shares, which previously brought a Solana ETF to market, is using the so-called 40 Act approach. That is a faster route than the usual S-1 and 19b-4 procedures.
While REX explicitly notes the high volatility and risks of Dogecoin in the filing, the potential approval is seen as a milestone for institutional recognition of memecoins.
Dogecoin has surged more than 116% over the past year, but remains well below its all-time high of $0.73 in May 2021. The hype around the coin is also fueled by Elon Musk's involvement, who, according to recent disclosures, would have invested about $200 million in DOGE through his lawyers.
The SEC is currently reviewing 92 crypto-ETF applications, including products for Solana, XRP, and Litecoin. Just in August, $4.37 billion flowed into digital investment products. If the Dogecoin ETF is approved, it would be the first U.S. spot ETF for a memecoin.
