Ethereum Layer-2 TVL at record highs

Data from L2Beat shows that Total Value Locked (TVL) in the Ethereum Layer 2 sector has reached a record high. Overall, the total value locked in Ethereum L2s has increased by about 17 percent over the past seven days. At the time of writing, the TVL stands at USD 47 billion.

With about USD 19 billion, Arbitrum is in pole position, and the network is also ahead in terms of significant increase in the number of users. It is followed by Optimism and Coinbase Base with USD 7.8 billion and USD 6.9 billion TVL, respectively.

The reason for the strong growth: airdrop speculation and the generally steady increase in network activity in recent months.

However, the all-time high can also be attributed to the price of Ethereum: ETH has risen 27 percent over the past seven days as a result of the ETF's adoption. At the time of writing, the second-largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization is trading at USD 3,900.
