Ethereum Name Service integrated into PayPal and Venmo

Fast, easy, and secure asset transfers. That's the promise of integrating the Ethereum Name Service into PayPal and Venmo.

It's a big leap forward for global crypto adoption. PayPal and Venmo are integrating the Ethereum Name Service (ENS) into their payment apps. This was announced by ENS Labs on View post on X.

Users can now send crypto by entering the recipient's ENS name for the payment. The app will automatically map to the correct address. This means you no longer need to use the usual crypto address, making sending and receiving crypto much simpler. In the past, the old method of long crypto addresses has repeatedly caused losses. Additionally, both apps introduce a contact-list feature for the people you most often send crypto to.

The feature is currently only available in the United States. PayPal and Venmo are used by nearly 270 million people there. Whether, and especially when, the feature will come to Europe is still unknown.

The integration caused ENS to rise by just under 5 percent in the short term. At the time of writing, Ethereum Name Service is trading at $17.06.
