Fidelity launches crypto retirement plan
The U.S. asset manager Fidelity enables retirement savings via crypto.

The American asset manager Fidelity is making retirement savings possible through crypto. The company announced this in a press release.
To do this, the asset manager is introducing several new retirement accounts (so-called IRAs). Holders of these accounts can trade in Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Litecoin.
Opening an account carries no fees. Fidelity, however, charges a 1 percent spread on the execution price of crypto buy- and sell orders.
Fidelity manages a total of nearly $6 trillion. This also includes spot ETFs for Bitcoin and Ethereum.
In the U.S., private retirement savings traditionally play a larger role than in Germany. But in Germany too, Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies can be used to supplement retirement.
