In the future, Apple product users could install external software on their devices without having to use Apple's App Store. Apple Inc. is preparing to allow alternative app stores on its iPhones and iPads, Bloomberg reports. The changes come in response to the Digital Markets Act from the European Union, which lays out the rules for big online platforms.
