The crypto asset manager Hashdex has filed a revised S-1 for its planned dual ETF that will track both Bitcoin and Ethereum. This comes from a document from the regulator.
If the SEC approves it, the Hashdex Nasdaq Crypto Index US ETF would be the first spot ETF in the U.S. to hold more than one cryptocurrency. Asset manager Franklin Templeton, however, has similar plans.
As things stand, the dual crypto index fund would allocate about 80.3% of its holdings to Bitcoin and 19.7% to Ethereum. It would also hold cash reserves, but for now no other cryptocurrencies. "The next logical step is index ETFs, because indices are efficient for investors—much like people buy the S&P 500 in an ETF. It will be the same with cryptocurrencies," said crypto investment expert Katalin Tischhauser to Cointelegraph.
Since the launch of U.S. spot ETFs for Bitcoin and Ethereum, more than $20 billion has flowed into the various crypto funds."
