The Italian Ministry of Economic Development yesterday, July 5, announced multi-million-euro subsidies for blockchain projects.

Starting in September, extensive subsidies will be available for projects in Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), and Blockchain. The Italian government plans to set aside €45 million for this.

"We support companies' investments in cutting-edge technologies to drive modernization of production systems through increasingly networked, efficient, secure, and fast management models," says Giancarlo Giorgetti, the Minister of Economic Development.

According to the official announcement, companies of any size can apply for subsidies. Projects must be tailored to selected sectors. These include: Industry and manufacturing, education, logistics and mobility, agri-food, environment, culture and tourism, health, or aerospace and aviation.
