J.P. Morgan executes its first DeFi transaction on Polygon
Through a pilot project in Singapore, J.P. Morgan conducts its first DeFi transaction.

Through a pilot project in Singapore, J.P. Morgan has completed its first DeFi transaction on a public blockchain. This is stated in a press release from the Monetary Authority of Singapore and the Financial Markets Authority (MAS) dated yesterday, November 2.
"Today marks the first step in showing that we can actually trade on these public networks," said Tyrone Lobban, head of blockchain launch and Onyx digital assets at J.P. Morgan. In View post on X, Lobban explains in detail how the transactions unfolded.
J.P. Morgan reportedly used the Polygon blockchain and a customized version of Aave. In this setup, Singapore dollars were exchanged for Japanese yen. "The live pilots led by major participants in the sector show that digital assets and decentralized finance have the potential to transform capital markets, provided the right guardrails are in place," says Sopnendu Mohanty, Chief Executive of Singapore FinTech.
As early as June this year, they announced the Guardian project, through which the Asian city-state aims to examine the DeFi sector.
