Kurant installs 300th Bitcoin ATM in Europe

Austrian company Kurant GmbH has commissioned its 300th Bitcoin ATM, reaching a milestone in crypto-adoption. This is according to a press release.

"We are incredibly proud to have commissioned our 300th ATM," told Kurant CEO Dr. Stefan Grill. The milestone is "the result of our team's tireless efforts and dedication to the long-term satisfaction of our customers and partners," he added.

With the installation in a branch of the partner company MediaMarkt in Wuppertal, the market leader is further expanding its position. The company has more than 70 devices in Germany.

Crypto users in the major German cities of Dortmund, Cologne, Frankfurt (Main), Munich, Mainz, Dresden, Hamburg and Berlin can access Bitcoin through ATMs in MediaMarktSaturn Group electronics stores.

To use the Bitcoin ATMs, interested parties must first register online and download a wallet app on their smartphone. This creates a QR code that is scanned at the ATM. Then, when cash is deposited, its equivalent value in Bitcoin appears on the wallet.

The company plans to expand further in the coming months. With the bankruptcy of provider Coin Cloud, one of its biggest competitors also left the market in February.
