London Stock Exchange to offer bitcoin derivatives
The London Stock Exchange plans to offer bitcoin derivatives, index futures, and options contracts.

The London Stock Exchange plans to offer bitcoin derivatives, index futures, and option contracts. The exchange is currently waiting for the authorities' green light.
The London Stock Exchange intends to do this following a partnership with trading platform GFO-X. GFO-X is supervised by the British Financial Conduct Authority. Regulators still need to approve the collaboration. To handle this, a new service has been set up to clear the activity. This service is called LCH DigitalAssetClear. Approval of the new digital-asset venture will be fully segregated from other transactions, including a separate default fund.
"Bitcoin index futures and options are a rapidly growing asset class with rising interest from institutional market participants. These players are seeking access in a regulated environment they can trust," said Frank Soussan, head of LCH DigitalAssetClear.
