Market update: Bitcoin stable above 100,000 USD – Ripple unstoppable

Bitcoin remains stable above $100,000, with a gain of almost eight percent in the last seven days. At the time of writing, the price stands at $101,350. Bitcoin's market capitalization is $2.01 trillion, maintaining it as one of the ten most valuable assets in the world, placed between Saudi Aramco and Amazon at the ranking.

Among the top 10 most valuable cryptocurrencies, Cardano (19 percent), Dogecoin (15 percent), and Solana (11 percent) are among the biggest gainers. Ethereum, on the other hand, has a modest gain of three percent and is currently at $3,366. The most successful cryptocurrency of the week is XRP, which reached a new all-time high after seven years with an impressive 45 percent increase on January 16.

This recent spike can mainly be attributed to Donald Trump's election win, which has raised hopes for favorable regulatory change in the US. Since the Republican victory, and subsequent hopes for an end to the four-year legal battle between Ripple Labs and the SEC, the price of XRP has risen more than 500 percent. Additionally, Trump is rumored to be considering including XRP in an “America-First” crypto reserve, along with Solana's SOL and the stablecoin USDC.
