In Lugano, a city in the Italian-speaking part of Switzerland, hungry crypto fans can now pay at McDonald's with Bitcoin and USDT.

The fast-food chain McDonald's accepts Bitcoin and USDT as payment method in Lugano. In a one-minute video fromView post on X, the payment process is shown. The city is drawing more attention when it comes to cryptocurrencies. Taxes can, for example, already be paid with cryptocurrencies.

In the future, parking passes, public services, and tuition fees for students can also be paid with cryptocurrencies. Besides BTC and the Tether stablecoin, these can also be paid with their own LVGA points.

In early March, Lugano signed a memorandum of understanding with Tether and launched the so-called "Plan B".
