Millions of addresses left disappointed in Arbitrum airdrop

During the long-awaited Arbitrum airdrop, many users will be left with nothing. The reason? Too little trading/activity on the chain.

Only one in three Arbitrum users will receive 1,000 tokens or more during the eagerly anticipated airdrop. This was reported by the blockchain analytics platform Nansen. Nearly 70 percent would receive nothing instead. About two million addresses.

"From the roughly 2.3 million wallets that were active on Arbitrum One before February 6, 2023, 625,143 receive more than three checkmarks and thus qualify to receive the newly issued Arbitrum token," said Nansen analyst Aurelie Barthere.

Airdrops are events that distribute tokens to specific wallets. Typically the payout is tied to user conditions, such as a certain transaction volume or high trading activity.

When airdrops are announced, fake addresses often appear trying to grab tokens through artificial fake accounts and inflated trading activity.
