A partnership between Polygon Labs and Immutable gives game developers a new platform on which they can create Web3 games. With zkEVM technology, the two blockchain gaming companies aim to give a fresh boost.
As part of the collaboration, the Ethereum Layer 2 firms are working on the so-called "Immutable zkEVM." This new technique is designed to make developing Web3-enabled games faster, easier, and less risky, according to Immutable in a blog post. Immutable zkEVM will serve as a scalable solution for developers and will be available "in the coming months," the company says. The firms can use this kind of innovation, since the mainstream audience isn't yet warming up to NFTs in blockchain games.
Polygon, meanwhile, plans to launch its new Ethereum side chain on March 27. The Layer 2 network is built with zero-knowledge proofs (zkProofs), a new scaling solution based on advanced cryptography.
Ethereum transactions could be executed in seconds and at low costs. At the same time, the technology offers a high level of security. Immutable could also benefit from this in the future.
