Price dips across nearly the entire crypto market

The crypto market is not showing any signs of a recovery right now. On Wednesday morning, prices opened mostly in the red. Compared to a day earlier, total market capitalization fell 3.8% to $2.7 trillion, a level we last saw in November 2024, during the U.S. presidential election cycle.
Bitcoin held relatively steady with a 2.5% loss. Altcoins, meanwhile, took bigger hits. Ethereum dropped 5% and slid again toward the $1,500 mark. The biggest loss among the top ten cryptos was recorded by Cardano: the ADA token fell 6% to $0.60.
Among the top 100 cryptos, Pi Network is the day’s biggest loser, down a hefty 19%. On the plus side, Mantra jumped 30%. That gain, though, needs context: the project had crashed at the start of the week.
Trader nerves are reflected in the Fear and Greed Index, which today fell to nine and sits deeper in the “fear” territory. Market tensions in the crypto space remain high.
