In those early days, the Bitcoin price was around 20 cents, a niche phenomenon that few people knew about until then.

But it wasn't until October of this year that a previously unknown email from the creator of Bitcoin surfaced. It is a message dated Aug. 22, 2008, to Wei Dai.

Dai had been working on a digital money system called "b-money" since 1998. Apparently, Satoshi was inspired by this, which is also confirmed by the e-mail. In it, the Bitcoin founder asks for the publication date of the b-money page so he can quote it in his upcoming work. A few months later, on Oct. 31, 2008, he published the white paper on Bitcoin. He attached a first draft to the e-mail to Dai.
