The next deadline for decisions on Bitcoin ETFs is Oct. 17.

Recently, the cryptocurrency authority had to deal with two setbacks in court. First, a court ruled that Ripple (XRP) is not a security.

Second, an appeals court ruled that the SEC's Application by Grayscale to convert the GBTC Bitcoin Trust into an ETF should not have been dismissed outright.
