According to data from Whalestats, a whale on the Ethereum network has accumulated a total of 18.8 trillion Shiba Inu (SHIB) tokens since July 2022.

According to CoinMarketCap, the whale, whose identity is unknown, holds 1.88 percent of all SHIB tokens. That makes him the sixth-largest SHIB holder. Elsewhere, the Shiba whale has MATIC, LINK and COMP in his wallet. Together all of his ERC-20 tokens are worth about $500 million. With price increases in recent weeks, SHIB has also risen by 15%.

Another reason for the ongoing strength of the memecoin is the upcoming implementation of "Shibarium". Crypto developers are currently preparing the launch of Shiba Inu's own Ethereum Layer 2 blockchain. Whether the unknown whale is holding onto his tokens for the Shibarium launch remains to be seen.
