Spotify is testing an extension that gives NFT holders access to exclusive playlists.

The music streaming service Spotify is currently piloting NFT playlists. With the "Token Enable Playlists" feature, NFT holders can connect their crypto wallet to the service to access exclusively curated playlists.

Spotify snagged a handful of NFT and Web3 projects for the initiative. These include the virtual band project "Kingship" from Universal Music Group and the Web3 games and entertainment brand Overlord.

According to a View post on X from Overlord, the test is currently only available to Android users in the US, UK, Germany, Australia, and New Zealand.

The current pilot isn't Spotify's first foray into the Web3 space. In May 2022, the company allowed a select group of artists to promote NFTs on its platform.

Meanwhile, several music projects are decentralizing either listening to music or monetization of it.
