Ethereum makes a big jump today. The second-largest crypto is currently trading at $1,935, up 5.3% in the last 24 hours. That makes it the strongest gainer among the top ten cryptocurrencies.

According to market analysts, the price gain is thanks to the Pectra update, which was successfully implemented on May 7. While it took a while, it brings important improvements in security, efficiency, and performance to the Ethereum network.

For many Ethereum supporters, this update marks a turning point in the recently weak market sentiment. It’s also the first step in a sequence of updates designed to make Ethereum competitive again with faster, more modern blockchains.
