The NFL pro team Houston Texans is the first team in the American Football League to accept payments for VIP boxes in Bitcoin. This comes from a press release from the club. In collaboration with crypto company BitWallet, which is also active in Houston, the announcement "with immediate effect".
"We are proud to partner with BitWallet to offer an exciting option for our fans who want to enjoy Texans game day in one of our suites," says Greg Grissom, chairman of the sports giant.
According to John T. Perrone, CEO of BitWallet, digital currencies have become a primary payment method. He added that he would be honored to roll out this service to Texas fans for the first time. The U.S. state of Texas is known for its interest in crypto. Miners based there make up a large portion of the bitcoin hashrate and work with the government.
