Bitcoin hashrate hits a new high.

Bitcoin hashrate has hit a new record. According to data from BitInfoCharts, it currently sits at a record high of 278 exahashes per second (EH/s). By comparison: the hashrate at the start of the year was 201 EH/s. In the last 24 hours, the BTC network's hash power has risen by nearly 8%.

Investors' willingness to invest from miners is thus directly opposed to the Bitcoin price. The first is rising steadily, while the second has been stagnating around $20,000 for a while.

Mining difficulty recently slipped. The difficulty indicates how hard Bitcoin mining is. It adjusts to the network's total hashrate so that, on average, a block is found every ten minutes.
