With the controversial Twitter takeover, Tesla CEO Elon Musk plans to integrate crypto apps on the short messaging platform. 1. Dogecoin Tweet Fee

In a meeting with Twitter staff, Musk stressed that "it would make sense to introduce a payment feature on Twitter." The Tesla boss also called out the many spam and bot comments and proposed a kind of tweet fee to be paid in Dogecoin.

Also a hot topic: the monthly fee for the blue check mark. This would be used to verify a specific person or token. Musk is probably convinced of a View post on X and is pushing for an $8 per month fee. The flip side is described by a poll, which found about 81 percent of participants wouldn’t want to pay. Regardless of whether it’s in euros, US dollars, or DOGE.

2. Twitter Wallet

What has long been a reality on Telegram is coming to Twitter soon: crypto wallets. "Twitter is working on a wallet prototype that supports crypto deposits and withdrawals," software engineer Jane Manchun Wong explained.

The news, however, is unconfirmed. There hasn’t been any request for comment yet. The tweet drew a lot of responses. Not surprising. When Jack Dorsey was CEO, the platform took a clearly crypto-friendly stance. For example, a BTC tipping feature was introduced as recently as September 2021.

3. Open Source Code

His goal to make Twitter the "platform of free expression" probably also means publishing the algorithm. Musk had asked for this a few months ago. It’s not surprising the crypto space sympathizes with the idea. Bitcoin and other protocols follow a similar approach. The best-known open-source platform is GitHub.

4 NFT Integration for Selected Users

NFT technology should not be overlooked under Musk’s new crypto regime either. With the takeover, Twitter is rolling out a new feature. In partnership with four NFT marketplaces, including Solana’s Magic Eden and Rarible, selected Twitter users will soon be able to view, buy, and sell NFTs. The package is called NFT Tweet Tiles and is currently in testing.

In the meantime, it remains to be seen when—and especially if—all these changes will roll out on Twitter. For now, Dogecoin’s price remains quoted in the original link.
