Here's what's happening with Cardano's historic hard fork

Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson gives insight into the current development status of Vasil. The update is expected in September.

In a video of about five minutes, the founder of Cardano explains that major crypto exchanges would need to apply the update first. Binance is already in the process. Coinbase and others are expected to follow quickly.

Additionally, a critical threshold of 75 percent of so-called network operators would need to install the update so a concrete date for the hard fork can be set. The hard fork is therefore aimed at "somewhere in September," if nothing slows development.

Vasil is expected to make Cardano thousands of percent faster, making it scalable for mass adoption. Charles Hoskinson had given similar statements a few weeks ago. A critical bug was found in a test version of the update then.
