The renowned Bitcoin investor and billionaire Tim Draper is stirring up again with a bold price forecast: he says Bitcoin will reach a value of $250,000 in 2025. He shared this on the social media platform X.
To hit that target, BTC would need to rise about 138% in value over the coming months. Yet Draper shows notable confidence in his stance. He backs his forecast with three developments he says will give the price a hefty boost:
- Increasing optimism around Donald Trump's trade deals
- New regulations the sector has been calling for
- Growth of Web3 apps running on the Bitcoin blockchain
He also points to growing adoption by banks. “Even JPMorgan — long a vocal crypto skeptic — is now preparing to offer crypto services,” Draper says. He argues Bitcoin is currently an "extremely low-risk investment."
Draper isn't the only bull
With his optimism, Draper isn't alone. Michael Saylor, founder of Strategy (formerly MicroStrategy), projects a Bitcoin price of at least $3 million by 2045. And Robert Kiyosaki, author of Rich Dad Poor Dad, also tells his followers to get into Bitcoin. He warns of a severe financial crisis this summer: “Baby boomers especially stand to lose everything in a crash of the stock and bond markets.”
Draper himself predicted a price of $250,000 in 2023, an expectation that didn't come to pass. But the billionaire isn’t backing down and continues to bet on a explosive rise of 'digital gold'. The market watches with bated breath: will 2025 finally be the year Draper's forecast comes true?
