Trump Media Moves 4,259 Bitcoin to Crypto.com

The transfer comes amid pressure around convertible notes and possible repayments of up to $1 billion. An onchain move does not automatically mean Trump Media sold its BTC.

Trump Media Moves 4,259 Bitcoin to Crypto.com

Key Takeaways

  • A wallet linked to Trump Media moved 4,259 Bitcoin to Crypto.com, worth about $434 million.
  • The coins came from addresses labeled “2028 Convertible Notes Collateral” and were tied to collateral for convertible notes.
  • Trump Media previously warned that it may need to sell bitcoin or other digital assets to pay note repayments.

A wallet linked to Trump Media & Technology Group, according to blockchain data, moved 4,259 Bitcoin to Crypto.com. The transaction raises fresh questions about the company’s bitcoin holdings, but an onchain move by itself does not mean anything was actually sold.

Large Transfer to Crypto.com

According to Arkham, the transfer consisted of two batches of 2,140 BTC and 2,119 BTC, worth about $434 million (€385 million) in total. The coins came from addresses labeled “2028 Convertible Notes Collateral” and were sent to an address that according to Arkham belongs to Crypto.com.

The timing stands out because Trump Media said in its quarterly report that it was holding 4,260.73 BTC as collateral for convertible notes on June 30. Based on that filing, those coins could not simply be withdrawn or paid out under the loan terms.

More Pressure Around the Notes

The transfer also comes just ahead of a possible cash-repurchase obligation later this month. In a November 2 securities filing, the company said holders of the convertible notes can demand repayment on November 30, which could rise to about $1 billion (€0.9 billion) in the worst case if everyone exercises that right.

Trump Media also warned that if refinancing or other measures are not enough, it may need to sell bitcoin or other digital assets to pay those repayments. The company did not respond to a request for comment on the latest transfer or the size of its remaining bitcoin holdings.

Why This Matters for Investors

For European crypto followers, this matters mainly because big onchain transfers from a publicly traded company are quickly read as a signal about treasury management, especially when debt and repayment dates are in play. At the same time, the earlier history shows that moves like this can also be purely about custody or management. In May and August 2026, Trump Media had already moved large amounts of BTC to Crypto.com, while the company said at the time that it was not a sale. Large bitcoin positions can also directly affect the business strategy at other public companies, such as Block’s bitcoin holdings, where the coin’s value plays an increasingly big role in results.
