Vitalik Buterin: Ethereum founder sells memecoin MOODENG

The leading crypto figure is selling the hyped memecoin - and donating most of the proceeds directly to a charitable organization.

Vitalik Buterin exchanged 10 billion tokens of the hippo memecoin MOODENG for just under 309 ETH and sent about 260 ETH of that to the biotech charity Kanro. The donation has an equivalent value of more than $640,000 US dollars.

The 30-year-old commented on this on View post on X: "Everything sent to me is donated to charity."

Well-known personalities, especially crypto-influencers, regularly receive tokens and coins for marketing purposes. He currently holds about 40 billion MOODENG - so it is quite possible that he will sell more soon.

However, he would prefer memecoins to be donated directly to charity, and perhaps he would even set up a DAO (Decentralized Autonomous Organization) for this purpose. This way, the community should be directly involved in the decisions and process.

Vitalik Buterin also highlights the positive aspect of Doge and Co. in his article by saying, "I've said before that I think the best thing for memecoins is that they bring maximum positive benefit to the world, so it's great to see moments when that actually happens!"
