In July 2022, the crypto lender Voyager filed for bankruptcy. The U.S. government has now given the green light for the company to sell all of its assets to Binance US. The takeover price? One billion dollars.
The news was first disclosed earlier this week by the Voyager Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors (UCC). The UCC represents creditors and oversees the company’s restructuring.
"Voyager, the UCC and the government have reached a resolution that allows the plan to move forward. The takeover could happen in the short term," the UCC said on Twitter. The approval comes three weeks after the US District Court blocked the sale to Binance.US temporarily.
Voyager filed for bankruptcy in July of last year. Since then, the company has been actively working on a plan to redistribute available funds among investors.
