The publicly traded crypto company Coinbase explained in a series of tweets why iPhone users of Coinbase Wallet can no longer send NFTs. According to the tweet, Coinbase deliberately deactivated the latest version.

Furthermore, Coinbase says: "Apple claims that the transaction costs needed to send NFTs must be paid through their in-app purchase system, at a 30 percent rate."

At the end of September, several companies decided to limit iPhone functionality. The often-cited reason: high fees.

Coinbase further accused Apple of crypto-ignorance: "For anyone who understands how NFTs and blockchains work, this is clearly not possible."

Apple would have made it "much harder to transfer NFTs to other wallets, or to give them away to friends and family," Coinbase says. When iOS users can again send NFTs via the Coinbase Wallet remains to be seen. Apple has not yet responded to the accusations.
