Will there be a Ripple ETF?

There would soon be a Ripple spot ETF can come. So says journalist Jacquelyn Melinek. The founder of Valkyrie, Steven McClurg, reportedly told her this. His company is one of the applicants for the Bitcoin Spot ETF. He said he would not be surprised if the XRP ETF comes before Ethereum.

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has been at loggerheads with the company behind XRP for years. Ripple has been accused that their token is a security. Ripple has so far had a partial victory achieved in this lawsuit. The main proceedings will enter the next round in April 2024.

But if the rumor turns out to be true, it could have major implications for Ripple. Spot ETFs allow for large inflows of institutional money. Ripple performed quite well last year.
