XRP Inflows to Binance Surge 663%

The spike comes as the CLARITY Act vote failed and the Fed delivered its first rate hike since 2023. Whale wallets added 1.54 billion XRP in the meantime.

XRP Inflows to Binance Surge 663%

Key Takeaways

  • XRP rose toward $1.50 on September 21 after recovering from around $1.27 earlier this month.
  • XRP inflows to Binance jumped 663% above the quarterly average, but reserves on the platform increased by only 0.22%.
  • Whale wallets added about 1.54 billion XRP in 96 hours, while $1.51 and $1.38 remain key technical levels.

XRP climbed toward $1.50 (€1.31) on September 21, sharply recovering from levels around $1.27 (€1.11) earlier this month. At the same time, XRP inflows to Binance surged, but that barely translated into higher reserves on the platform. That suggests many tokens were moved, but not left there in large numbers to be sold right away.

Inflows Spike in Three Sessions

According to on-chain data, Binance received an average of 21.7 million XRP per day, 663% above the quarterly average. The biggest spikes came on September 11, 16, and 17, with 91.2 million, 44.5 million, and 41.7 million tokens, respectively. Those days lined up with the failed vote on the CLARITY Act and the Federal Reserve's first rate hike since 2023.

An inflow to a crypto exchange usually means tokens are moving from private wallets to a trading platform. That can point to selling plans, but also to repositioning for trading. In this case, Binance reserves rose only 0.22% to about 2.63 billion XRP, while daily outflows averaged 11.6 million tokens.

Large Holders Keep Buying

Large wallets also added more context to the picture. According to data shared by analyst Ali Martinez based on Santiment, whale wallets added about 1.54 billion XRP to their combined holdings in 96 hours, worth roughly $2.2 billion (€1.9 billion). That fits with broader accumulation around the token, despite the higher activity on Binance. Earlier, falling XRP reserves on Binance already showed that the available selling supply on the platform was under pressure.

What Investors Are Watching Now

For European crypto followers, the main thing to watch is that this move is not just about price, but also about whale behavior and trading flows. If inflows, outflows, and reserves keep moving close together, that can signal a lot of activity without a clear direction. XRP also remains sensitive to levels around the 50-week moving average, which now sits at about $1.51 (€1.31), while $1.38 (€1.20) is seen as an important support area.
