XRP Stays Around $1 as Long Positions Build
Derivatives traders are building long positions on Binance and OKX, while Santiment sees social sentiment at its lowest point in three months.

Key Takeaways
- XRP is trading around $1, while traders are betting more on a rebound and derivatives activity is clearly picking up.
- Futures open interest rose to about $2.78 billion, and trading volume climbed 55 percent in 24 hours.
- Social media sentiment has not been this negative in three months, while nearly 50,000 addresses were active on the ledger.
XRP is moving around the $1 (€0.86) mark, while traders are increasingly betting on a rebound. At the same time, online sentiment has worsened further, and the tone on social channels is at its lowest point in three months.
Derivatives Activity Picks Up
Futures open interest rose on Monday to about $2.78 billion (€2.4 billion), an increase of 2 percent in 24 hours, while trading volume climbed 55 percent to around $1.17 billion (€1 billion), according to CoinGlass. That points to more capital locked up in open derivatives positions, while the market around XRP is clearly getting more active.
On Binance, more than three accounts held a long position for every short position, and among the biggest traders that ratio was about 3.6 to 1. OKX showed the same 3.6-to-1 split. Across the market, the 24-hour long-to-short ratio was around 0.93, which suggests the heavy long bias is mainly concentrated on a few major crypto exchanges.
Sentiment Remains Weak
That bullish positioning clashes with the tone on social media. According to Santiment, XRP was talked about more negatively this week on X, Reddit, Telegram, and other channels than at any point in the past three months, after the token failed to bounce. XRP is trading around $1 (€0.86), well below last year’s peaks above $3 (€2.59).
Activity on the ledger itself is also picking up. Nearly 50,000 addresses were active over a 24-hour period, the highest level in more than two months. An active address only shows that a wallet sent or received something, not whether the owner is buying, selling, or moving tokens internally.
Why This Matters for Europe
For European crypto followers, the main point is that XRP is still hovering around a psychologically important support zone of $0.95 (€0.82) to $1.00 (€0.86). Levels like that often draw extra attention from derivatives traders, especially when leverage is high and the market can turn quickly. The mix of weak sentiment and rising long positions makes XRP one of the most closely watched altcoins right now.
