85% bet Ethereum won't hit an ATH in 2024

Ethereum has had a tough year. And according to bets on Polymarket, that will probably stay that way. About 85 percent of users bet that Ethereum won't reach a new all-time high this year. The bet is worth roughly 3.6 million US dollars.

Polymarket is the world's largest decentralized betting platform. One reason: the U.S. market watchdog, the SEC, has delayed its decision on whether Ethereum spot ETFs should be allowed to trade options. Ethereum has been one of the weaker performers this year. The price barely moved. It started the year around USD 2,300 and is now around USD 2,600. In the meantime, Ethereum hit a value of USD 4,000. The all-time high from November 2021 is USD 4,800.
