BMW to use Binance Smart Chain for loyalty program

To engage customers, BMW is working on a blockchain-based loyalty program. For this, the German automaker is relying on the BNB Chain.
Automaker BMW is integrating a blockchain solution via the BNB Chain to offer its customers loyalty programs. This comes from a press release from blockchain infrastructure company Coinweb. "Coinweb will advise BMW Financial Services on the setup and implementation of smart contracts and a cross-chain loyalty program," the company says.
As part of the rollout plan, it will be explored "whether time-consuming manual processes can be automated with smart contracts." The second phase involves developing a SaaS Web3 application that "offers incentives to BMW Group customers with a blockchain-based rewards program," Coinweb says.
Users would then be able to redeem the rewards they purchase at "BMW or in a connected ecosystem," the release adds. The BNB blockchain was chosen for its "cost, speed, and capacity" advantages.
Currently, the integration is planned only for customers in Thailand. Whether BMW will expand the blockchain loyalty program to other countries remains to be seen. "We expect this shift from manual paperwork to immutable blockchain records will contribute massively to seamless efficiency and transparency," said Bjorn Antonsson, CEO of BMW Leasing (Thailand).
