Ethereum has the highest developer activity

Ethereum is currently the blockchain with the most developer activity. That comes from a ranking released on August 22 by the on-chain analytics platform Santiment.

The crypto community is eagerly watching the Ethereum merge. The efforts of countless developers working behind the scenes to ensure a smooth transition of the consensus mechanism are substantial. Just behind Ethereum in second and third place are Polkadot and its sister chain Kusama, according to Santiment. They are at least continuing on the strength of the past few months in this regard.

Cardano is also very active right now with 389 activities. The blockchain developers around founder Charles Hoskinson have been working at full speed to complete the already repeatedly postponed upgrade "Vasil". Last month Cardano even reached the top spot in the ranking.

Santiment collected the data based on publicly visible activity on GitHub, a platform for managing software development projects. The full development history of a project, along with new changes, is freely accessible there. For the crypto community, developer activity provides a way to track a project's progress.
