The International Criminal Police Organization, also known as Interpol, wants to combat financial crime using cryptocurrencies. A dedicated unit has been set up for this. The world's largest police force is said to have established its own division in Singapore that focuses specifically on crypto crime. This was reported by the news outlet Business Standard.

According to the report, Juergen Stock, Interpol's secretary-general, told reporters at a press conference that cryptocurrencies "pose a challenge for law enforcement because agencies are often not properly trained and/or equipped."
